Abstract

Landscape, in architectural thinking, faces social and scientific challenges generated among the contemporary net of the human beings, nature and the design interventions on the territory. The so-called death of the territory in the global era has been contested with a renewed coming back to the local sphere and rebuild it. This “return to landscape” and “return to territory” does not imply repeating history, but a new conceptualization and action from new paradigms. The importance of the analysis of concepts such as landscape and territory, aims to rethink artificial interventions in the natural environment. On the one hand, it is convenient to re- view the foundations of the notion of landscape that are revealed to us from history, because history corresponds with the different ways that man sees the world. On the other hand, from the complexity of the landscape in architecture, it is important to think on the sketches of solutions that are suggested in the present, and how plastic productions participate in the processes of transformation of space. In short, tis paper is about crossing intellectual concerns with scientific processes and the challenges of the profession, in order to think about the contemporary from its own complexity.
