El presente artículo analiza las intervenciones y adulteraciones que sufren las estatuas de próceres y figuras nacionales en la Alameda o Av. Libertador O ́Higgins. Ubicadas desde el paseo Bulnes hasta Av. Ricardo Cumming, en este recorrido se incluye el “Monumento al Roto Chileno”, emplazado en el barrio Yungay, que comienza precisamente desde Av. Ricardo Cumming hacia el poniente. A medida que se desarrolla el texto, se describirán i) las principales intervenciones y adulteraciones que muestran las estatuas y monumentos posterior a las marchas en Alameda; ii) los grupos que adhieren a las manifestaciones y que se desplazan, estudian y residen en esta zona de la capital; por último, iii) las principales proclamas de esto grupos, que se manifiestan en la urbe a través de las intervenciones, los rayados o murales en fachadas, la destrucción del mobiliario urbano y de los locales de comercio formal. Se pretende, con este análisis, aventurar ciertas hipótesis plausibles acerca de las implicancias de estas intervenciones urbanas, y los discursos ideológicos que las acompañan.

In this article the main objective is to analyse the interventions and adulterations suffered by the statues of national heroes in Alameda or Av. Libertador O’Higgins. These interventions are located from Paseo Bulnes to Ricardo Cumming Avenue, and the “Monumento al Roto Chileno”, located in the Yungay neighborhood, starting precisely from Ricardo Cum- ming Avenue towards the west, is included in this tour. As the text develops, it will describe i) the main interventions and adulterations shown by the statues and monuments after the marches in Alameda; ii) the groups that adhere to the demonstrations and that move, study and reside in this area of the capital; finally, iii) the main proclamations of these groups, which manifest themselves through these interventions to the statues, the scratches or murals on facades, and the destruction of public equipment and formal commerce premises. The intention with this analysis is to venture certain hypotheses about the implications of these urban interventions and ideological discourses in the chilean contingency.
